When I saw him I said, "That's him!"

Brokenhearted I flew to the the Amazon to teach.
Don and I had met in 1970. My shy, retiring self said to friends, "I'm going to get a guy this weekend!" We all laughed but that is what happened! When I saw him I said, "That's him!"
He wasn't tall but he was handsome with dark hair, a big smile and snapping brown eyes! Putting on my uncommon feminine wiles I approached him. Two years later he ended our relationship.
I knew I needed to find peace - and thus my plan to leave Canada.
Helping children provided outward focus but I remained heart broken.
Finally I accepted that it was over and peace came.
The next day his letter arrived and my heart leapt.
His request was poetic - Adam getting his rib back and he was coming to me.
Skirting snakes and tarantulas, we walked in privacy. One morning he popped the question. It was so casual. While sitting at the piano he said, "Would you like to go look for a ring today?" Oh what joy!
The rest is history!
